Dubai Culture Sheds Light on Storytelling Techniques in 'Library Talks' Bushra Khalfan

A variety of creative workshops will be offered by Dubai Culture in collaboration with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai to Dubai Public Library members as part of the 'Library Talks' initiative, which falls under the umbrella of the 'School of Life' project. On 10 January 2025, Al Safa Art & Design Library will host a session titled 'Historical Narratives in Khaleeji Novels.' This session will feature Omani author Bushra Khalfan, the author of Delshad: Sirat Al-Jou’ Wal-Shaba’ and Delshad: Sirat Al-Dam Wal-Dhahab, and Emirati author Salha Obaid, the writer of Daerat Al-Tawabel. Together, they will explore how history serves as a tool to weave narratives that celebrate heritage and culture, followed by a book signing.

Additionally, library members can look forward to the workshop 'The Novel: From Idea to Text,' scheduled from 11 to 13 January 2025. Led by Bushra Khalfan, this workshop will provide participants with insights into novel-writing techniques, elements, and structures. Khalfan will also lead the workshop 'Introduction to the Art of Novel Writing,' offering guidance on generating ideas, crafting narratives, building plots, creating characters, and more.
