HIS HIGHNESS SHEIKH MANSOOR INAUGURATES MONTBLANC CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION
“Vivid artistic representations reaffirm that the future of Arab art is in safe hands” - HH Sheikh Mansoor
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority ( Dubai Cultures), His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the “ Letters” exhibition of art and calligraphy by young artists from the UAE and the Middle East at the Grand Atrium of Dubai Mall yesterday (Monday, September 14th).
HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed expressed his delight to see this huge interest sparked by young artists and students towards this old Arabic art form and these vivid artistic representations reaffirm that Arab art is developing rapidly and the future is in safe hands.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsors Montblanc, Regional Brand Director, Joe Nahhas said: “The very foundations of civilization and culture are rooted in language and writing and all enlightening experiences and exciting discoveries have to be recorded before they can be exploited and developed. Knowledge, ability and will are what transcend the individual and distinguish the culture of mankind.”
The event called ‘Letters’ is being organized by luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc and will run through to October 3rd.
“It is thanks to the creation of writing that culture and art are expressed in a virtually inexhaustible diversity of forms. Due to its origin in the writing culture - the first expression of human cultural life - Montblanc has made a special commitment to cultural advancement,” Mr. Nahhas remarked.
He noted that Montblanc therefore promotes many different international activities that each contribute in their own way to the cultural life of society.
Montblanc recently joined hands with UNICEF in a drive to eradicate illiteracy by pledging a sum of AED 5.5 million ($1.5 million) towards education to ensure that children regardless of their gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background or circumstances have access to quality education.
With the “Signature for Good” programme, Montblanc will contribute towards giving as many children as possible better access to quality learning and thus lay the foundation for growth, transformation, innovation, opportunity and equality for all children.
